The Event was Started by Bill Turnbull from the BBC View Images from the 3 Peaks Challenge 2009

A thousand or more people accepted the challenge to 'walk the chalk' in the Ian Rennie 3 Peaks Challenge on Sunday the 20th September. Bill Turnbull who is better known as the BBC's Breakfast Presenter both got the walk started and joined in as well. They started at 9am in Princes Risborough. After climbing Whiteleaf Cross and Coombe Hill they headed off to Ivinghoe Beacon to complete the 9 mile walk. It was a great day and the weather was fantastic. There was a brilliant atmostphere among the walkers, and judging by the comments and looks on everyones faces everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
